It was an honor to be among the guests at the celebration of Frank´s life. And while my husband urged me to speak, I felt intimidated and let the moment pass. In the summer of 1970, I left the country for the first time to study French at Laval University in Quebec. Finding my way to class the first morning, I noticed the tallest boy I´d ever seen. It turned out that we were classmates and he had been as nervous as I. During those six weeks studying with Madame Carboni we became...

My condolences to Frank's Family and Friends. I knew him as far back as 6th grade in Kettering, The Boy Scouts (Troop 236) in Kettering and we finished high school together in 1969 also in Kettering. RIP. (RWL)

I just found this site tonight. Tomorrow is Franks´ memorial service and I find myself once again on my porch in the mountains sitting by myself and reflecting. Back in May when I found out about Frank´s passing, I did the same but had a long conversation with Craig B sharing our thoughts, sadness, and memories. Anyone who knew Frank understood what a privilege it was to know such a man. One of my many regrets in life is that I lost touch with Frank when he joined the Agency. I met Frank...

Frank and I met in French class at LaVal University in the summer of 1970. We remained friends ever since. He was a brilliant, funny, fascinating man who brought out the best in others. Linda, Hailey, Rachel--I cannot even imagine how you will miss him. My love goes out to you all.

I’ve said it before, but it should be said again: I find it hard to imagine a world without Frank in it. Every time I pick up a book, I still instinctively ask myself: would Frank like this one? Should I share it with him? I miss his phone calls, the lunches we ate together, the memories we shared and the new ones we created. The memories will remain, however, and they are more precious now. Ila’s and my heartfelt love goes out to all the Trippetts.

Frank was a friend and colleague. He was wise, thoughtful, and, above all, a gentleman in every sense of the word. I will miss him and the intriguing and informative talks we had. He was a very, very fine officer, dedicated to service to his country.

I have vivid memories of talking to Frank on hikes. Even though I didn’t know him well I remember him well because of the interest he took in what I told him about my life and plans, his warmth and empathic nature. I also remember him talking about how proud he was of his daughters. I am saddened to hear that he has left us so early in his life.

A true friend from our days in the same class through many years of crossing paths around the world. Ever a kind and thoughtful man. Intelligent, dedicated. And through all of his life he retained a warm, comforting sense of humor. I'm lucky to have known him. Gosh, will we all really miss him.
