A Kid's Man
Their house in Merrick, N.Y., was the playground, and Frank J. Vignola Jr. was the leader to the kids. "Our gate is like a revolving door, and sometimes I answered the phone, 'Grand Central,' " said his wife, Lynn Vignola. On the weekends, more than a half-dozen kids -- the couple's children, nieces and nephews -- kept the gate swinging.

Mr. Vignola, 6-foot-1, would try to make the biggest splash in the swimming pool. He would play Monopoly and Battleship, and run electric trains, with the kids.

For his own children -- Sarah, 13, and Anthony, 8 -- weekends were "Daddy Time." When a new "Star Wars" movie or an "X-Men" came out, he would get up at 6 a.m. and go to the theater with them to wait in line. Anthony would follow Daddy like a shadow, even when he ran errands.

Weekends are a lot quieter now. "When I asked my son 'Want to play with Mom?', he said "No, you don't have imagination.' " Mrs. Vignola said.

Mr. Vignola, 44, was a senior vice president and partner at Cantor Fitzgerald.

Not sure what to say?

I worked at the Chicago Board of Trade and was assigned Cantor Fitzgerald. It was always a pleasure speaking with Mr. Vignola on a monthly basis. I never had the privilege to meet him personally, but it seemed like I new him a long time. Very nice man.

Rest in Paradise Mr. Vignola.

Frankie is my cousin. His Mother, Francis is my grandmother's baby sister. I remember Frankie as a kind, loving young man. I miss you, cousin!! Caroline Hattaway

Franks loss, Im sure is felt deep, Frank had the biggest heart, always there to lend a hand or offer advice. I worked with Frank a long, long time ago but his brightness has stayed with me more than 25 years later. GOD Bless.

I listened today to the roll call of the names of those we lost at the World Trade Center. It is so painful to realize the loss of so many innocent lives. I heard the name Vignola! I am a Vignola too! There are so few of us that I feel we are all somehow related. I am so sorry for your loss! I am sure it does not get any easier! I am sure that you never forget Frank for a dat! God bless!

Frank, I speak to your Mom every 9/11 anniversary & a couple of times a year. We never met but I love your Mom, like family to us. God Bless you & know you are missed by many!

Franky is my cousin. His mother, Francis, is my grandmother, Rosalie's younger sister. My heart hurts for your children and your wife.

I remember Frank as a very happy, caring individual with a great sense of humor. Though we never met in person we did speak on the phone, sometimes 5 days a week, for years regarding CF and became friends. His voice, so distinctive,is forever imprinted in my mind. God Bless Frank and all who loved him. I do.
