Frankie L. McClelland, age 70, of Manassas Park, died peacefully at home with family at her side on July 18, 2008

Born in Frankfort, West Virginia, August 14, 1937, she was the daughter of Roy and Mary Buris Hefner. She was married to Charles Herbert McClelland, Jr., who survives.

Frankie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who made her home in Manassas Park since 1972. After raising two sons and three daughters she spent the rest of her life looking after, caring for, and spoiling her seven grandchildren.

Mrs. McClelland was preceded in death by her father and mother, Roy and Mary Hefner, and one sister, Phyllis Hefner Adams Krantz.

She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Charles Herbert McClelland; children, Bonnie A. Rowe and her husband, Mark, William L. Humphries, Frances L. Humphries and her loving companion, John McDonald, Carol Henry Humphries, Pamela L. Phipps and her husband, David; four brothers, James M. Hefner, Clifford W. Hefner, Roy R Hefner, Robert M. Hefner; three sisters, Ovellia M. Loudermilk, Sue A. Lovelle, Patricia F. Bailey; seven grandchildren, Charles B. Rowe, Andrea L. Taylor, M. Tyler Rowe, Sydney L. Phipps, Lyndsey J. Phipps, Peyton N. Phipps, Nathan D. Phipps, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 24, 2008 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Yorkshire Free Will Baptist Church, 7620 Chestnut St., Manassas. Funeral Services will begin at 11 a.m. in the church sanctuary with the Rev. Lonnie D. Saylers officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, Virginia.

Memorial contributions may take the form of a donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 2727 Enterprise Parkway, Suite 104, Richmond, VA 23294.
