Frankie Edison Williams, 75, of Princeton died Sunday, March 25, 2018 at his residence. Born September 7, 1942 in Bluefield he was the son of the late Frank Williams and Della Mitchem Williams. Frankie was a U.S. Army veteran and of the Protestant faith. He was retired from the F.D.I.C. as Section Chief in the Bank Liquidation Department with sixteen years service. He was a member of the American Legion and Princeton Moose Lodge #1521. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James. E. “Gib” Williams and Lawrence C. “Joe” Williams.  Survivors include one daughter, Wanda Jean East and husband Carl of Elliston, VA; two sons, Michael D. Williams and wife Cindy of Woodleaf, NC and Douglas G. Williams and wife Jessie of New Castle, VA; twelve grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Thelma A. Carter of Rock, WV and Eleanor G. “Gertie” Goodman and husband Bill of Princeton; former wives Barbara Fortner Williams Kelley (mother of his children) and Margaret Gregory Williams and her children and grandchildren.  In keeping with Frankie’s wishes his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 PM, Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Rev. Daniel Gunnoe officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the West Virginia National Guard Honor Guard. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until the service hour on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Riley Vest American Legion Post #9, 1796 Stadium Dr., Bluefield, WV 24701 or to a veteran’s organization of choice.

Frank and I served together at Fort Gordon Georgia for a number of years.
He would take me to his cousins in Cairo Georgia.
I met his brother.
I will miss the now and than phone calls that Frank and I had over the years.
