FRANKLIN KIPP PHILLIPS
Franklin Kipp Phillips was born on January 28, 1956 and has recently experienced the transition of moving on from this life to eternal glory with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Frankie passed away on the early morning of December 28th after enduring an emergent surgical procedure on his heart and subsequent recovery.
We've been so blessed to have shared in Frankie's incredible life. He is and always has been our hero. It's been so wonderful and exciting to experience with Frankie his many endeavors and accomplishments.
To his brothers and friends and while still a youth, Frank was the ultimate champion who stood up for right and would physically defeat anyone victimizing another.
He loved sports and competition. He excelled in football and was an incredible middle linebacker on Ed White's football team and wore #52, a number that his younger brothers respect even to this day.
But what he's primarily known and remembered for, is his gifted and energetic guitar playing and performing.
Frank's musical career began at Hyde Park Church, while still an elementary school! child, where he performed the song, "Little Black Egg" by the Nightcrawlers. Frankie would continue playing and performing his entire life and had successes with many bands and bandmates. His runs with The Attitudes' and 'Stevie Stiletto' included record contracts, world tours and prominent venues, where he opened and starred with many acts including U2 and The Alarm.
Frankie had a big heart and constantly exhibited great affection to many including his wife, brothers, mother, nieces, nephews and friends.
Frank's passing came suddenly, and the pain/sorrow is significant, but his heart's desire was to be with the Lord which is now fulfilled, and for that, we are eternally grateful.
A memorial service will be held January 28th at 4:30 at The Adele Grage Cultural Center, 716 Ocean Boulevard and 7th St., Atlantic Beach, FL.
