ASHEVILLE-Franklin Richard Quick Sr. 71 passed away April 26, 2014 in Asheville, NC. He was born July 30, 1942 in Ft. Mills,SC son of the late Edd Quick and Carrie Nell Smith.
Franklin served our country in the US Marine Corps and worked for the Dept of Defense as a supervisor in the civil service.
He is survived by his children Russell and his wife Mary Ann Quick of Hendersonville, NC; Barbara Thompson and her husband Art of Sylvester, GA, Franklin R. Quick Jr. of South Carolina and Kevin Quick and Jason Simmons of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; brother Roger Quick of Mills River, NC , sister Penni Quick of Atlanta, GA, Tim Quick of Cordell, GA, Larry Quick of Orlando, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife Velma Marvetta Anders Quick and his brother Nelson Quick.
A Funeral service with military honors will be held at Thos. Shepherd's church street chapel on Wednesday April 30, 2014 at 11:00 AM with a visitation held one hour prior to services for family and friends at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to the Disabled American Veterans in his memory.
