BECKER RITTER ELMBROOK FUNERAL HOME Obituary

Completed his life’s journey and entered eternal life on November 25, 2016 at the age of 73.  In 1968, Frank married Carole Prudisch (Weiss) and together they created a home in Wauwatosa for the past 48 years.  He is survived by two sons, Keith (Elizabeth) Prudisch and James (Kerry) Hopp, and six grandchildren, Laryssa, Michael and Daniel Prudisch and Taylor, Kate and Jamie Hopp.

Frank was born in Milwaukee, WI on July 26th, 1943, to Donald and Emilie Hopp.  He attended Pius XI High School, St. Mary’s College in Winona, Minnesota for two years and attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Philosophy from Marquette University.

He began his teaching career in 1968 at Holy Trinity Grade School and from 1970 to 1984 taught 4th, 5th and 6th grade at 27th Street School.  Frank became a Wisconsin Certified General Appraiser in 1977 in association with Realty Valuation Services.  In 1995 he opened Hopp Appraisal Services which operated until July of 2016.  He has served as a member of the Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing until his time of passing.

Frank will be remembered as a devoted husband and as a loving and caring Father, “Papa”/Grandfather.  He will also be remembered by his many friends and colleagues as a singularly kind, gentle, unassuming, honest, happy man whose integrity was an example to all who knew him.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 4-7PM at Becker Ritter Funeral Home and again on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church (12130 W. Center Street, Wauwatosa, WI 53222).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or the charity of your choice.

The Hopp Family is deeply grateful to the Oncology Staff at Ascension Elmbrook Hospital, especially Dr. Leena Varkey Maramattom, and nursing staff, Katie, Lacey, Jan, Kathy, Erica and Julie for their very personal and compassionate care.

Not sure what to say?

I was saddened to hear of Frank's passing. I am an appraiser like Frank and have worked with him on the State real estate boards for 10+ years. Frank was a true professional and certainly enjoyed giving back to the appraisal profession. He was enjoyable to be around and has a knack to get through tough issues. I will miss him.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of my former co-worker at Twenty-seventh Street School. I was the Reading Resource Teacher there from 1971-1978, and I so enjoyed watching Frank work with children. He was such a good teacher-------kind, patient, funny, and very easy to work with. I will always remember him as a dedicated gentle man.

I have nothing but fond memories of living across the street and hanging out at the Hopp residence from the time I could walk through high school. Mr. and Mrs. Hopp have always welcomed us into their home and I could not have asked for a better family to grow up with. I have a deep respect for the entire Hopp family and hope all the fond memories you have gathered over these many years quickly replace the pain of losing him. Thank you Mr. Hopp for always being good to me.

Thinking of you and keeping you and your family in prayer. Linda Rudersdorf

Dear Keith, Betty, Laryssa, Michael, Danny,
We are so sorry to hear of your loss as we feel Frank was called Home much too soon, but God must have needed a talented teacher/appraiser more. Our prayers are that Frank is no longer suffering and that all of your hearts may soon be on a healing path. Please know that Carole, your family, and Jim's family are all in our thoughts and prayers. Such a beautiful guardian angel you now have!
Sincerely,
Dan, Sue, Erica, Adam

Our deep sympathy from all of your friends in the Wisconsin Garden Club Federation.
