Read MoreI knew Mr. Jauernig's first name to be Dave and he was the Disclipline Director in the basement in Clinton Ave School in the '60's. I saw him only a handful of times and back then he wasn't someone you wanted to see or, worse yet, be sent to. I'm happy that he was able to advance his career in the New Haven School System. May Our Lord Jesus Christ rest his soul.

Mr Jauernig was a kind teacher. He introduced me to all sorts of beautiful flowers when I was a student at FHMS in the early 70s: I fell in love with Impatiens flowers, and after all these years they are still one of my favorites. RIP Mr J Angela Williams Thigpen
