My Father John Purdy Aldridge 1926-2005

Sad to hear about the passing of my Uncle Fred. May he rest in peace.

Fred and his brother were war heros and bothe served together on U.S.S Helena

I loved and respected my father, John Purdy Aldridge, more than anyone on earth. My father, may he rest in peace, respected his brother Fred more than any man on earth. I last saw my Uncle Fred after I graduated from Navy boot camp in 1971. He was one of the smartest men I ever met and he will always be remembered fondly by me. Fred, like his brothers Elwood, John, and Carl were all proud Navy men who put their lives on the line so we could all remain free. I salute you Uncle Fred,...

I am the oldest daughter of Uncle Fred's youngest brother, John Purdy Aldridge. Uncle Fred & I exchanged Christmas cards every year & he would always call me in January to see how we were all doing. I always looked forward to hearing from him & will miss him. I have been going through family photos & found many of Uncle Fred when he was in the Navy. I would love to pass these on to his children & grandchildren.

I am the oldest daughter of John Purdy Aldridge; John P, as he was known, was the youngest brother of Fred Aldridge. Uncle Fred and I exchanged Christmas cards for many years and he would always follow-up with a phone call to me. We'd always have a nice time talking about family and how we were doing. I enjoyed those calls and will miss talking to Uncle Fred. I have been going through old family photos and found many of Uncle Fred with my father and some of his Navy buddies. I would love to...

Uncle Fred,
It was always great getting up with you when I was in town working at the Coast Guard base. My family and I enjoyed stopping by a couple of years ago. Sorry about the comment about the cat being fat. Condolences to your family. May you rest in peace.
