Not sure what to say?

I was a member of Northminster for 26 years, Fred was there the whole time. He began my love of music, I'd watch my mom and dad sing, at practice and on almost every Sunday, with Fred directing. Then Fred directed me in the choir, taught us loud basses to sing "beautifully" with everyone else. He has sown many seeds.....

I will never forget Fred "Fritz" Frey as my late wife Donna and I sang under his choir direction at Northminster Presbyterian Church from Sept 1967 until Feb 1976 at which time we moved to York, PA, where I have continued to sing in our church choir for the past 33 years. Thanks to Fritz, I owe my love for music and his great friendship that we have had over the past 42 years. God is with you and I know that you are already directing a choir of angels.

Music was a major part of his life from a young age when he took voice lessions to playing in the dance band in college to preforming a piano solo written by Bela Bartok to band and instrumental teaching in Gilmore City,Iowa to Poly in Balto to Dulaney in Balto County. All he did with great pride and gusto.

Fred was an excellent choir director. He taught me how to accompany the choir at Northminster from the very first rehearsal I attended as organist. Gordon joined the church because Fred was the choir director! He had been in the Polly glee club when Fred was directing it in 1955. We will miss him with all of our hearts. God bless you Fred!!!

What a tremendous legacy, both for the students at Franklin and for the members of Northminster. Thank you for your example of service through music.
