Woodfin Funeral Chapel - Murfreesboro Obituary

Fred Fuqua, age 71 of Murfreesboro, died Friday at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital. He was a native of Clarksville and a son of the late Rev. Luke and Dorothy Ellis Fuqua. He was also preceded in death by a daughter Debra Jill Fuqua.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, June Fuqua; a son Steve Fuqua and his wife Monica of Joelton; a daughter Brook Gillenwaters and her husband Tim of Murfreesboro; five grandchildren Tyler and Connor Fuqua, Brittany and Jonathan Ullrich and Tucker Young; a sister Jean Howse and her husband Gary of Springfield, and two brothers Ronald Fuqua and his wife Pat of Clarksville and Scott Fuqua of Nashville.

Mr. Fuqua was a member of the Methodist faith and retired from CSX as a train conductor after 40 years of service.

Visitation will be Monday from 11:00am until the time of funeral services beginning at 1:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Bros. Shelby Smith and Tim Gillenwaters will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Family will serve as pallbearers.
