Fred Oliver Gerbode, 88, entered into eternal rest November 8, 2016. Family and friends will gather from 2:00-5:00 PM. Sunday, November 13, at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Rd. Funeral services are at 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 14, in the Chapel. In keeping with Fred's request to be buried in his signature red jumpsuit, attendees are asked to wear red. See forestparkwestheimer.com for more details.

Had the pleasure of meeting Fred at several shell functions. He had left deer park before I came there but his reputation proceeded him as a great person, a great boss and someone who wasn't afraid to laugh and put folks around him at ease. My ex supervisor said Fred was by far the best manager you could ask for and a great friend to have.

Mr. Gerbode was a great scoutmaster and a great man. I have not lived in Houston for many years but I never forgot him and his example of service to all of us in Troop 740. May God bless him and his family.

We were blessed to be you neighbor for 37 years. Our sons Jim & Bill were in your scout troop. We moved in 2003 to Montgomery, We always have happy memories of Your Neighbor Night out gatherings.
