Dr. Fred E. Hembree

I had not realized Dr. Hembree had passed until today when I was telling two future PBA students to be sure to take his class. He made history fun for all of us. I know he is at peace and smiling down on his family. May God bless you all.

Fred, I am so sorry that I didn't get to tell you everything I know about Roy Orbison as you asked recently. I answered your incredibly kind and nostalgic message regarding me and my family on the Rock Hill High School website, but my father was very sick, passed away, and I never got to tell you the story. Well....I guess Roy can tell you all about our recording sessions now...it was fantastic, wonderful, amazing, unbelievable.... give him a big hug for me for recording/producing me....and...

Fred I will miss going into your office almost every morning and talking about our lives and loves. I will also remember how you would take some liberal stand and make me almost believe you meant only for me to discover your smile. Also singing a Johnny Cash song with you accompanying me for the history club. Your were a dear friend for 25 years. Along with your colleagues at PBA, we will miss you. Fred, you will be missed. I didn't know you well, but you were a fellow colleague at PBAU, and you were in my prayers.
May God comfort the family he left grieving.

Fred was a valued colleague and friend at Palm Beach Atlantic University. He will be greatly missed.
