I REMEMBER FRED WHEN YES STARTED IN 2002 HE BROADCAST THE NEW YORK YANKEES UNTIL 2004 BEFORE HE WENT TO ESPN AARON JUDGE HAD 62 HOME RUNS FOR THE YANKEES GREAT GUY HIM AND SUZYN WALDMAN WERE FRIENDS ON YES I SAW FRED IN THE PICTURE WITH JIM KAAT SUZYN WALDMAN MICHAEL KAY KEN SINGELTON AND JOHN STERLING HE WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED MAY HE REST AND PEACE YOU WILL BE DOING THE YANKEE GAMES IN HEAVEN

My first childhood friend, RIP Fred, So sorry for your loss.

Fred will be truly missed we played pick up basketball all the time in Springfield Illinois when he worked for Channel 20 he had game that's why I made sure I was always on his team he never forgot about his friends in Springfield that's what I admired about him he was still Fred my condolences to the family

First met Fred in 1974 while attending Coe College in Cedar Rapids Iowa. Fred had a engaging personality and we soon forged a friendship and respect that endured over the years. He will be missed. My family and I send our sincere condolences to wife Sheila and the rest of the family for their loss.

May God keep you and the family ever so close during this time. Our sincere condolences.

I watched Fred (and Nick) so much that once while taking a tour of the CNN building Fred passed near the group, my wife saw him and shouted, there goes your friend. Fred was startled and turned around and said hello in our direction. May he rest in peace.

I’m so saddened to hear about my very good friend Fred Hickman I remember when we were fresh out of high school a time when my nephew Eddie Rhodes and I used to hang out with Fred all the time he truly was a great person to know it just brings back memories of the 3 of us together we were inseparable .
