Paula, It's been a very long time since I've seen you, but I just heard about the passing of your wonderful father, and wanted you to know how sorry I am. What an exemplary life he led!

You may not remember me but I worked closely with your father when he was the Mayor of Jackson. He was a man of great integrity and character and I will never forget that. I am so sorry for your lost and hope that his memory will cherish you the rest of your days.

A fond memory: watching Papa Janke patiently removing every last morsel from the Thanksgiving turkey carcass, a task that everyone gratefully left to him. We were blessed to have met him. Our thoughts are with you.
