Uncle Fred all my aunts and my Nana would tell me to walk very softly when our family would go to Jacksonville to visit. Because you were such a business man and went to bed early they were alittle intimidated by you. I wasn't because I was alittle stupid and young.I never felt uncomfortable talking to you. What always amazed me about you was your ability to sit back and take everything in that was going on,you were an observer, not only that,, you could listen to differant conversations at...

Dear Papa,
I know it was pretty hard the last couple of years, But I will never forget the great times we had together. Like fishing at Uncle Gene's place or the trips to Ocoee to see Mr. Griffin. I will never forget the road lessons and the stories of what it was like during the war. Make that wars. Your stories and your devotion to the family has made me a better person and has encouraged me to go after my dreams for traveling. Although we did not make it to Austraila together I...

Papa,
Thanks for the driving lessons, the laughs (when you would take out your teeth and pretend nothing happened when Louie would look at you) and always reminding me that you were in charge and I was under supervision. I love you, Papa, and miss you very much. I will see you again one day.
Love,
Heather

I would like to extend my sympathies to Fred Jr., Shirley, Curtis and all of the Johns Family grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
While I had been friends with Frank for years, I didn’t meet Fred until later in his life. He brought to our friendship wisdom, stability, and the qualities of an old-world gentleman. We talked for hours on end, and he taught me the perspective of a business person. I am forever grateful for that knowledge, and will take it with me to future...

I always enjoyed talking to Fred when he called Dad. Dad always said the Bear is on the line and wants to talk to you. So I always referred to him as the "Bear" around Dad. He and Dad were two of a kind and they will both be missed by our families and friends. I have always treasured the friendship our families have shared over the years. May God Bless and heal the pain of his family.

I am saddened to hear of Fred's death. He was a truly great man, a gentleman, a hero.
As I have remarried and am living between Atlantic Beach and MD, I hadn't seen Fred for a while, but he will always hold a special place in my heart as I'm sure he will in yours.
Sincerely,
Christina Cross ( Tanner) Realtor
