I was the batboy when East High School won the city championship at League Park. Fred out pitched the great Ken McBride who went on to become a very good major league pitcher.

Barbara and I went to high school with Fred. Missed not seeing him this past year at our class reunion affairs, didn't know he was ill. Fred was in Barbara's class, he would always come over and talk to her at the reunions, a kind and gentle guy. We will greatly miss him. He helped to maintain the high standard of baseball we had at East High. Our deepest sympathies to all the families. Christ & Barbara (Polson) Petroff

To my cousins,
You have my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your father. I remember when we were children how I felt Uncle Fred was my favorite uncle. Mom also sends her love and prayers. She will miss his phone calls.
