Not sure what to say?

Coach Kovar was both my basketball and golf coach at Chaminade. I can see him making what today would be a three point shot and he would smile and say "pure". We spent oh so many three years together on the golf course. Never forget the state tournament in Columbia. It was right before finals. We studied math. Lo and behold the EXACT same numbers were used on the exam. EXACT. I aced it!!

I will always remember his favorite saying. " a word to the wise is sufficient". william fischer class of 66

Brings back memories when I played basketball with his sons Lou & John at St Ferdinand. Sorry for your loss.

I remember Coach when he was my math teacher at U. City in the early 70's. Every minute you were late to class you had to get down and give him 10. Pushups that is. He even got me to understand Algebra. I have nothing but good memories of him.

Coach Kovar was one of the good guys. Our school motto at Chaminade was "Esto Vir" "Be a Man". It was what Coach taught us everyday, whether in the classroom or on the court. We are all better men for having had him in our lives.

Dr John, I am sorry for your loss. I await some stories about the good stuff you all did together. peace be with you.

The Men of Beaumont extend our deepest sympathy on the lost of your father. Fred was both a classmate and friend and will be missed by all. Our hearts go out to your family in your time of sorrow. Although no words can really help to ease the loss you bear, just know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
