Not sure what to say?

Remembering our times at SMS, I decided to google Fred. So great to see about all the wonderful things Fred accomplished. So sorry about his death. Marty, I'm sure you were a big part to his success. Doug Swinger Marshall MO.

Marty, Audrey and I are deeply saddened to hear of General Marty's passing. Please accept our condolences and our thanks for the mentorship and friendship you both provided to us at Fort Sill.

General Marty was first and foremost a gentleman. He was the sort of leader his people went the extra mile for, just because of who he was: a man of integrity who expected high standards and then helped you achieve them. I worked for him twice, in different roles.

I was honored to work with Fred as a consultant to Lycoming County. His quiet yet effective and powerful leadership style was something I always hoped to emulate. His kindness and willingness to share the benefit of his experience helped me grow as a professional. I miss you, Fred.

Proud to have known and served with this great leader and mentor (Frankfurt 1986-1987). A man of integrity. Our time together will always be remembered. Sending our heartfelt sympathy.

Marty, Bill and I send our deepest sympathies to you and your family on the loss of such a wonderful, delightful man. We have such fond memories of our time at Ft. Sill, and you and Fred helped make our time there so enjoyable. Our thoughts go out to you.

I had the pleasure of working for him at SMSU and I can say it was a real pleasure to know him. A wonderful American served his country and his community.

Fred's "can do" attitude has been and will always be remembered. He was the stabilizing force in a demanding environment. I will always cherish our relationship.
