Not sure what to say?

Mrs. McCain, I forgot to tell you that I named my third son, Twain Noel Thomas. We wanted his initials to be TNT and my husband picked Twain after Samuel Clements and I picked Noel after Mr. Fred Noel McCain.

Woody Vann (Smith) Thomas, Gainesville, Texas

I was so saddened to learn of Fred's passing during the IAVM (formerly IAAM) Conference in New Orleans last week. My condolences to Mary and the rest of the family!

Fred McCain was dearly loved and admired in Denton. My late husband, Ronnie Roberts, thought Fred "hung the moon". I extend my sincere prayers and understanding to the family of Fred. May God bless each of them. Respectfully, Terry Roberts

Karen, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your precious Dad. It is so hard to let them go but we are so lucky to have had such great men in our lives. Take care, Gala York Samuels

Mrs. McCain, I want to express my condolences to you and your son and daughter. I know you will all miss him terribly. I remember, Mr. McCain taught me History in the 10th grade and Commercial Math(I only learned football plays in there) in the 11th grade at Gainesville High School in 1950 and 1951. He called me Wanda Vern by mistake the first day of school and he never forgot it. He thought he was so funny for doing that. He was my favorite teacher forever and I will never forget him. He...

God Bless the McCain in this time of sorrow, knowing Karen as the product of Coach McCain, I am sure he was a great man and know will be deeply missed by loving family. You are in my prayers.

I will always be thankful to Fred McCain for hiring me to work as athletic trainer at North Texas. My experiences at North Texas and Denton have helped me to grow into the person I am today. Fred truly loved North Texas and he always did whatever he could to improve the athletic program at North Texas. His legacy will be missed.

As football player for North Texas in 60-62 I always enjoyed Coach McCain's leadership. I will always value that time I had with him and remember Coach for his dedication to molding us into people. Job well done in life Coach.
