I only got to know Ted briefly doing some yard work for him but it was always a pleasure to go to the McCurdy home. He taught me much about his plants and his genuine concern for the events of my life was always evident. It was ALWAYS a pleasure to see Ted. You will indeed be missed Mr. McCurdy.

Ted was one of the reasons I joined Phi Gamma Delta. When I did, he became my big brother and we had many many brotherly chats. He was a role model for me my four years at Pitt. I am deeply saddened to learn of his passing. My sympathy goes out to his wife and family.

How I loved "Uncle" Ted and how I love you! No matter how old I was, I used to look forward to your visits; you were truly part of our family. I remember you and Uncle Ted being unfailingly cheerful, upbeat, and a joy to be around. There was always lots of laughter when we saw you. Not only would we laugh, but Uncle Ted would ask about my doings, and was interested in my thoughts and feelings. He encouraged me during some serious struggles when I was much younger, he would...

What an inspiration he was. What a great friend of my parents. Truly a man who loved the Lord Jesus very much. God has a garden in Heaven waiting for his attention.
