Not sure what to say?

I met Mac and Barbara while on a trip with my Grandfather, Oscar Bayer. We were flying back from Alaska in my Grandfather's biplane and stopped, in Washington, to see Mac and Barbara. We spent a few beautiful days at their home in Hood Canal. We fished for clams and crab during the low tide, cooked fabulous meals and a wonderful time. Mac and Barbara were so kind and generous. I have wonderful memories of them and the time we spent together. Mac will be sorely missed.

Barb, I would like to express my deepest condolences to you and your family for the loss of such a wonderful soul mate. While you don't know me, through my parents, Kurt and Sandy, I have heard many wonderful and heart warming stories of the adventures you had together. May God bless you and give you comfort in your time of need.

My husband George (deceased 2008) and I met Barb and Mac at our assigned table on a Far East cruise in June, 1994 and immediately became friends. We're from Michigan but often visit our children in Kent, WA so met the McDowells for lunch whenever possible, and they have visited us as well. We valued and enjoyed their friendship, and I will greatly miss Mac's hearty greeting. His smile and genuine interest in others were a winning combination. Godspeed Mac...

I first met Mac and Barbara in Artesia, NM in 1945. At that time I was a new 2nd Lt. and stationed at Carlsbad doing Bombardier training. Mac was my PE instructor and we hit it off. We went to Artesia together to the Swimming Pool (thats where the pretty girls hung out) Mac met Barbara and I met Betty - the rest is history! We have been close friends all these years and My wife and I will sorely miss him.

Barbara- Ben and I send our most sincere condolences. To me, you and Mac were always a role model for a happy couple. I think of you often with much love. I know Mom is sending her love to you now as well. Abbe and Ben
