He'll always be "Photo Fred" in my memories of him. A great photographer, but more importantly a nice guy, whose photos, experience and willingness to work with someone far less capable than him really helped a young (at the time) writer working in state government. Photo Fred was wonderful to talk to and work with, very friendly and had an awesome sense of humor. I just wish I could have seen him again before his death. The world's a little colder without "Photo Fred" in it.
