In 1978 - 1979, as a student at Bowie High School, I only saw Coach Rosas as a serious leader of young men. I don't think I ever saw him smile. But what I didn't realize was that beneath the gruff exterior was a heart of solid gold. At a school where a lot of kids are from a broken homes, he was the father figure and role model that we all needed. His body of work and his accomplishments were truly amazing. Celebrating a life well lived. We will cherish the memories forever.

Words are futile at a time like this but our sincere condolences and sympathy reach out to his family. I heard and saw him at Bowie when I was in school. He was definitely an "Orgullo to the Mexican Population". RIP Mr. Rosas. Rita Rios Ellis, Las Vegas, NV

Every time I saw him he always gave me a hug and told me to behave, he would always make me smile. Not only was he a coach but also a friend.
