Not sure what to say?

Carolyn, I am so sorry to hear you lost Fred. When you think about Hueytown Sports you have to think about "Chicken" Salter's contributions. He and I were able to share some great memories at our last HHS Class 52 reunion. May God be with you and your family at this time.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. He was one of the finest Christian men I knew.Loved God, life and Pleasant Ridge. God Bless you all.

Carolyn & family, our thoughts & prayers go out to you. Fred was our dear friend for many years. He will be missed, & always remembered. Our Love,Jack,Bonnie,&Sophie

He was a vital part of Hueytown and he did so much to contribute to the welfare of the young as well as the old. He was very much respected and admired by our family. The ballpark would not have been the same without him. Our thoughts are with all of your family during this difficult time. Nell and Pat Salamone

We are saddened about hearing of Fred's passing. He will surely be missed. He was a kind and gentle man. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. God bless.

So sorry for your loss. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

All of us who knew him, played for him, or were the object of a generally well deserved whistle, are fortunate to have been in the company of a true gentleman. Rest in peace Chicken Salter. We'll miss you.
