My heartfelt sympathies to Janet and family. I have a very warm remembrance of Fred. I was an employee of the Office of Financial Management, SSA, when he was Director. He had a wonderful way of making the best decisions. He would engage employees in a friendly discourse, and without prejudging an issue beforehand, question them to make sure they had explored an issue thoroughly. He was also very approachable and supportive in providing advice and assistance in making career decisions. ...

I have so many pleasant memories of Fred. We worked on the membership committee at Har Sinai together and had many laughs It was always wonderful to see Fred there.
We also exercised together at Life Bridge.
And I never knew he was such an accomplished man but I was not surprised
Janet my deepest sympathy to you and your family.
