Not sure what to say?

When Fred made a celebrity visit to Royal Bank, Bridgeport PA, I surprised him with this poster April 9, 2008

A HUGE chunk of my Philly childhood is now gone. I am beyond sad that I will never again hear that distinctive sign-off on KYW. I was in awe of his knowledge of finance. There will never be another like him.

Fred Sherman was my first cousin--I was a child during the war years. He sent me a beautiful doll from Belgium in 1943, which I still have. His brother Henry was shot down by Japanese Zeros over New Guinea--and I've told the story of our family's loss in my essay "The Lost Airman" which I invite you to read at
http://www.its.caltech.edu/~mjgerber/lostairman.html

I am sorry to hear that Fred's voice has been silenced. I always looked forward to his reports and hearing his signature sign off. May you rest in peace and may your family be comforted by knowing that so many others will miss Fred also.

Fred, I will miss your voice. Blessings to your family.

RIP Mr. Sherman, you will be missed in Philadelphia!
