Fred and Kathy are big hearted, loving and highly principled people. They shared their home with Sister Cindy Mahoney, and she loved them and their family unconditionally. I had known and come to love Kathy through Aiken Peace, where Kathy introduced me to Cindy and we also became friends. I spent many hours in their home during Cindy's last year of life, and saw their generosity, kindness, wit and wisdom first hand. Typo-Apollo 8 was 1968. He also worked on Apollo 11(1969), the first moon landing. He wrote the program that controlled their breathing packs for the moon walks.

In the time I got to know Fred, I found him to be a very kind, compassionate and caring man. He was a very smart man and you could talk to him about anything. He was also a wonderful mentor to his son-in-law Matt Conner. He will be dearly missed.
