I was an undergraduate at URI when Fred was a Ph.D. student and the Pied Piper that organized the free thinkers and rebels of the early sixties. Always warm, caring, creative, incitefull and a good friend. I always teased him about not wanting to finish his degree work. He loved being a student as his future endevers demonstrated.
