Not sure what to say?

I hope ur family is doing well. I know u all miss Fred as well as the whole town of Poolesville. He was a special person to everyone. Hard to believe it has been a year.

Fred was a gem to his family and community! I know your grief still continues. I´m holding you up in my prayers as you remember a wonderful life!!

I am saddened by Fred´s passing. I will pray for you and the rest of your family. My thoughts are with you. Take care!

Quite simply, Fred was a gift to many. His impact on so many lives was really beyond measure. Those lives included his many students. Among them were my three children. His coaching was an extension of his teaching. I know his athletes carry positive memories of their time spent with Coach Swick. Since I retired and moved from Poolesville, Fred and I shared many conversations talking about families, coaching, sports, and the world. What a great guy.

I first met Fred Swick as a young high school Freshman at Walter Johnson High School in 1982. He was an assistant football coach there and I played football for the Spartans (back then they were not the Wildcats LOL). Needless to say, I developed a connection with him. He was my PE Teacher and didn't just coach me, but one of my sisters as well as he coached softball if I remember correctly - it has been a while since those days. Needless to say, I kept in touch with him and he and Mr....

I was so sorry to hear of Fred's passing and what he has been dealing with these past seven years. Fred and I worked together at WJ, where he was a great coach, teacher and friend. He made a lasting impact on all the student-athletes he coached. He was a great support to me in my job as Athletic Director. In fact it was his idea to make "black" the accent color to WJ's colors Kelly Green & White. I know Donetta and family will be supported by all the great memories they made together. My...

I was so sadden to hear about Fred passing. Fred and I go way back to junior high school where completed against each other in basketball. Then we played together for four years at RM. Finally we both team up again at MC for two years. Fred and I played hours of play ground basketball where he with his claim demeanor kept me in check many times. Also we would catch up from time to time coaching high school girls basketball. Our conversations would always end up talking about our family. He...

I will truly miss Fred, not only as a friend and coworker who always made me smile but also as a coach who taught my children valuable lifelong lessons. My heart goes out to the Swick and Gardener families, as Fred always made it obvious That his family was everything to him. May all the wonderful memories and stories help you make it through this devastating time.

So sorry and sad to hear about Fred. What a great person who loved working with children. My granddaughter, Paige, enjoyed playing basketball with Maddie in high school and in summer leagues coached by Fred. A wonderful family and I always enjoyed chatting with them at games. Fred will be greatly missed. Thoughts and prayers to all of u at this difficult time.
