Read MoreI remember Fred as a jovial dad who was the epitome of cool. Diane hosted pajama parties and birthday parties when we were in middlle school. He and Edna were kind and welcoming. Fred was full of jokes and always willing to chat with us about his adventures in WWII and his time in the Philadelphia police force. I loved his irrelevant humor. No other dad was like Fred.

Even though I did not know Fred personally, I do know that he is the epitome of America's greatest generation in serving his country and then building the working class of America. He will be missed but not forgotten and I thank him for his service to our country
