Not sure what to say?

I had the pleasure to know Fred through his work at the Illinois DNR. He was very helpful and kind. I will keep him in my thoughts.

Dear friend, Shane and Kathy,
His dry sense of humor and ability to apply it to get things done was his greatest moments. Never did he turn his back on his fellow miners. We will all miss a great friend and very kind man.

I was saddened to learn of Fred's passsing. I worked with him at Mines & Minerals. A better guy there never was! We'd always laugh at Christmas time when I'd ask him to pick up some coal for me for select gifts I needed for a few people.... Darned if he didn't show up a few days later with a sack full of the stuff for me! Fred will be missed!

May Fred rest in peace. He was a wonderful classmate. My deepest sympathy to Kathy and the family.

Taylor and I extend our sincere sympathy to Fred's family. I had the pleasure of working with Fred at Mines and Mineral prior to its consolidation with Natural Resources in 1995. He was a great friend and a true gentleman. From his years with the IL Coal Association, Taylor also knew and respected Fred. We are in S.C. now and are sorry we cannot attend the visitation, but our thoughts are with his family and friends.

A better friend we have never had. Denny & Roberta

Kathy and family, I've know Fred for several years through working at Monterey Coal and living right up the road from you all on Old Quarry Trail. I was shocked and saddened to here of Fred's passing. Fred was a great guy with a great heart. God bless you and your family. You will be in my prayers. Jim Hawk

Dear Kathy and Family:

You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Fred was one of a kind. I enjoyed working with him for the last seven years. He was always there when you needed anything, and I for one will miss him very much.
