In memory of a loving father, husband, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, uncle and friend. Fred was a leap year baby, born February 29, 1932 and returned to our Heavenly Father on April 17, 2012. Fred, son of Frederick Arza and Nora Clyde Huff Welch, was the youngest of four children. Fred was born in Cowley WY and always held that close to his heart. He graduated from Manti High Class of 1951. Fred married Janet Stephens and became a loving step-father of four and soon added two additional girls, Stephanie and Nora. They married on October 31, which continued to be a favorite celebration for the family. They later sealed their marriage in the LDS Temple.
Fred is survived by brother Arthur (Dixie) Welch, children, Kevin Verholtz, Kurt (Karrie) Verholtz, Karl Verholtz and Nora Welch. 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren.
Awaiting him in heaven is wife Janet Welch, daughters Stephanie Welch and Sharla Dodge. Parents, brother Huff Welch, and his "little" big sister Virginia Welch Marsh. Fred had a heart of gold and will be missed by many family members and friends.

God bless Fred's family. Childhood friend Ray Wilson

Grew up with Fred, Spent some summers at the Crocker place on the Pryor Mountains , up on the head of Sage Creek.

Nora, we are so sorry to hear about your loss. Fred was always one of my favorite people at family get-togethers going up as a kid. I always remember him in a good mood with a contagious laugh. You could always tell he was a good person with a big heart. We are so sorry that we couldn't make the services but Sondra, Emily and I are keeping you and the family in our thoughts. Love you, Rob

Had lots of good times with Fred growing up in the Basin, My thoughts and prayers are with his family in this time of bereavement.

Dear Nora, so sorry for your loss, Fred was really a good person may he rest in peace and our thoughts are with you and your family. Love you Aunt Carol

My sweet Uncle Fred is one of the most golden-hearted people I will ever know. I'll miss his love and his ever-present mischievous way in warming the hearts of everyone he came into contact with. His charm will be cherished and never forgotten. While I am sorry for the loss his family here sustains in his absence, I'm also happy for the reunion in a far better world with family that has gone on before.
