BOWERS, Freda "Lucille" - Of Lennon, age 70, died Friday, March 9, 2007 at her residence. Funeral service will be held at 1PM Monday, March 12, 2007 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Jerry Shepherd officiating. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to a charity of one's choice. Visitation 5-8PM Saturday and 11AM-3PM and 5-8PM Sunday and 11AM Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Lucille was born in Arkansas on July 16, 1936, the daughter of the late Buddy and Celie Bice. She married John Bowers on February 24, 1979 in Flint. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to crochet, knit, read the bible and also enjoyed sending family and friends get well cards. Surviving are husband, John of Lennon; children, Connie (Larry) Hammer of Lennon, Shelly (Theron) Allen of Burton and Sandy (Perry) Pippenger of Louisiana; grandchildren, Crystal (Troy) Greene, Malissa Hammer, Johnnie Taylor, Tracy (Luke) Mageli, Matthew Taylor, Corey Pippenger, Felicia Taylor, Kenneth Taylor, Caleb Pippenger, Hayley Allen, Raymond Allen and Ryan Allen; great-grandchildren, Adrianna Hammer, Jailyn Taylor, Nolan Greene and Olivia Mahan; brother, Chester Bice of Arkansas; sister, Elywise Hancox of Arkansas; special niece and nephew, Linda and Bud Jones of Columbiaville; many nieces and nephews. We were so shocked to hear of the loss of Lucy. We know she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. God Bless her family, and know that she is with our Lord and Savior.
