The Life and Legacy

Freddie Alfred, III, was born on July 29th, 1987 to Dena Alfred and Freddie Alfred, Jr.

Affectionately known as Lightning, he was born and raised in Beaumont, Texas.  He briefly attended Central High School then later proudly completed his GED. He had an  entrepreneurial spirit and a brilliant mind filled with intellect, intuition and great wisdom.

Since his younger years, Lightning was known to be quite fearless and protective of his loved ones. Although his alpha energy was often on display, he was a deeply caring soul who poured out love to his family and close acquaintances.

Lightning also had a very playful sense of humor and enjoyed “agitating” his family members for amusement. He was a loving father who’s fun-loving spirit was adored not only by his children, but by all the children of the family. His infectious smile and laughter will be cherished by all who knew him.

Lightning departed this life on Tuesday, September 12th, 2023. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Freddie Alfred, Sr. and Lourita Alfred.

Lightning’s memories will forever remain in the hearts of his mother, Dena Alfred; father, Elder Freddie Alfred, Jr. and his stepmother, Shirley Alfred; sister, Yashika Lane (and husband Corey); brother, Jeremiah Alfred (and wife Benita); sister,  Nicole Vasquez (and husband Danny); his three children, Kiana Mayfield, Treylon Tillman and Laurelle Alfred; and a host of cousins, aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

I remember when he was a baby. I didn't get to see him grow up because I moved away from Beaumont. My last visit a couple of months ago I did get to see the handsome young man that he became. RIP Your Family Will miss You.
