Freddie G. Stambaugh, age 66, passed peacefully into the waiting arms of God
on Sunday, August 5th, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer. His
family was by his side. Fred was a man with a wonderful sense of humor and
a passion for fishing, which he indulged by spending many hours on the lake
with his fishing buddy and big brother, Lynwood. More often than not, he
would catch his limit; often sharing with friends and neighbor what he could
not eat himself. Fred also owned and ran his own lumber company, “Fall
Industries” for many years prior to his retirement in 2004. Fred leaves
behind his loving and devoted wife of 47 years Jennie, whom he met and wooed
with his baby blues during a baseball game in 1959 and the rest is history.
He was a devoted father and doting grandfather; he also leaves behind his
beloved children Lori (Stambaugh) Martinez, of Grand Rapids and Randy
Stambaugh of Holland, granddaughters (his pride and joy), Nicole
Hop-Martinez and Randi Martinez. Fred is also survived by brothers Lynwood
and LeRoy and sister Janet, brothers in law, Skip (Liz) and Dick (Mary
Alice) Holtz, several nieces and nephews and of course, many wonderful
friends. Cremation has taken place and the family will be holding a private
memorial service celebrating Freddie’s Life. Contributions can be made in
Freddie’s name to any of the following organizations; Sparrow Hospice
Services, American Cancer Society, S.P.Y.’s Scholarship Fund or any charity
of your choosing: C/O RFH P.O. Box 36 Sunfield, MI 48890. Express your
thoughts and memories in the online Guest Book at www.legacy.com The

As his oldest granddaugther I can not say enough about the out-pouring of love an suport my grandmother and family have recieved since his passing. The visits, cards and phone calls have all meant so much to all of us. It is truely a testiment to the sort of man my grandfather was. When he cared about you, you could feel it. It was in the looks he threw, his belly laugh and his actions.
My grandfather was a man of integrity and unending devotion. Neither my sister nor I could ever...

I'll never forget meeting the Stambaugh twins when we moved in next door to them when they were both just little "shavers," fifty eight years ago. They held a "special" place in my heart and always will. I'm so sorry for your lose Jenny but always remember the "fun times" and not the last hours.

Stambaugh family,
When I read of Freddie's passing I knew I should write to you all as I too, feel what you feel and I know how much it means when people sign Emily's guest book. I just wanted to say that I am so sorry for your loss. It is a hurt like no other when your loved ones go "home". We have to always be mindful that we will be seeing them again and the next time we do, we will never be separated again. They are definately part of our future and we hold on to...
