Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served with the U.S. Army in Italy during WW II as a Combat Infantryman with the 88th Infantry Division which saw continuous combat against the Germans in some of the toughest fighting of the War from the early Spring of 1944 through to when the Germans in Italy surrendered on May 2, 1945. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
