Fred was just a great guy!

Barry and I love seeing Fred and Barbara at concerts and events. Fred's mega-watt smile and laugh always made us smile. We are grateful for all that Fred brought to the world in his work, his personality, and in his loving relationship with Barbara.

What a Guy! Fred had an infectious personality and the team he and Barb made was wonderful. I was happy to be a participant of one of Fred's many inventions following my hand surgery. Kalamazoo was lucky to have both Fred and Barbara sharing their knowledge and skills with Western Michigan University students and residents of Kalamazoo. God Bless Jane Cornette Smeed

So sorry to read of Fred's passing! He was such a remarkable man who accomplished so much in his 97 years! I am sorry that I only met he and Barbara in their later years so was not aware of all of his inventions, expertise in his OT department, and his numerous ways he helped others! I will miss his infectious smile and warm personality! He had a wonderful way with all of those he encountered throughout his long life! Thank you Fred for all you did for WMU, your students, and the handicapped....
