Not sure what to say?

Dear John and family,
We were both shocked to hear of Fredi's sudden and untimely death. Knowing you as we do, we understand the grief and loss you must all be feeling and the emotional vacuum that her passing has left in your lives. We will always remember Fredi fondly for her gentle and caring disposition to all and her ability to always remain unflustered under stress. Our years in Charlottesville will be remembered for the interactions we had with you both and for the sense of family...

Dear John,
I was so shocked and saddened to hear about Fredi's sudden death. She was such a wonderful woman. As an avid reader, I always looked forward to hearing her latest book suggestions. Please know you and your family are in my thoughts.

Sly and I were sad to learn of your mother's sudden death. As you know, it's an experience I share with you, and that you've gracefully shared with me. The obituary was so rich in description of the genuine American treasure your mother was. What a role model for all of us women struggling just to get lunches made. You are all so lucky to have had her spirit, example, love, and protection for such a long, focused, time in your lives. Keep her with you as your guide and be good to...

Dr. Davis,
I just spoke with John and learned of Fredi's passing and I wanted to send my condolences and prayers along to you, Susan, John, Stewart, Rufus and Frederica, and also to your extended families. It has been years since you all welcomed me into your family on trips to C-ville and MRG but you were as warm to me as if I were another one of the family. Getting to know John and your family has been a source of happiness in my life. I hope that you can find happiness with your...

To Rufus and all the Davis family that I grew up with,

I was deeply saddened to hear about your mother. She was special to me because she was my host teacher during senior year at CHS when I was involved with SODA. Kelly Sundberg Seaman and I spent an afternoon once a week with her class and that experience helped me grow as a person as much as any other during what was a traumatic time in my life. Years later when I would see your mother it was always so much fun to say hello...

I'm truly sorry to learn of your loss.I'm a former student of Mrs. Davis. Though I hadn't seen her in quite a few years, I remember she was a very nice person, and a great teacher.
I will be keeping the family in my thoughts and prayers.

Although I did not have Mrs. Davis as a teacher, I do remember her very well from Buford Middle School. For her family may you be comforted by loving memories of her and may we all live as she did helping others. Bless you all.

J.D. and family,
John and I are saddened to hear about the loss of your mother. After reading the beautifully written obituary we can now see how you came to be the wonderful person that you are. Hold on to all your memories, they will get you through the hard times. You and your family are in our prayers and thoughts.
Peace,
Jeanne and John Gallo

Dear Dr. Davis and family,
Amy and I share in the sorrow of your loss and send our prayers for your comfort in friends, family and faith. Evident in the comments in this guest book, from Fredi's obituary and from personal experience is the profound impact you both have had on the lives of so many. You have welcomed us into your lives as a family member, whether on a trip to Mad River Glen, a summer back yard lunch on Kent Rd., or meeting in Snowmass, Co. "Fredi" will live on in the so...
