Not sure what to say?

I was a sitter for Fred and his previous wife, Marcia´s young children, Michael and Katy. They brought me into their family. This was in 1972-1975. I have wonderful memories from talking to Fred (he was VERY intelligent and very nice.

Fred Anderson was a kind and wise philosopher and professor. I was often his ride home to Ann Arbor; occasionally I had dinner with his family. Once, Fred took a small group to Wayne State to hear a paper read by Willard Quine, his former (very famous) professor at Harvard. Quine was wonderful and clearly happy to see Fred. - just a couple of many kindnesses I will always remember. Roderick Ganiard

Dr. Anderson was my ethics professor in college. Great class and a great guy! Thank you.

Fred was chair of the Philosophy Section at EMU when I was hired. He became a friend and mentor during my early years, and I learned a great deal from him. I just now learned of his passing and am greatly saddened by it. He will surely be missed by all who knew him well

Forgot to light a candle for you! You're still on my mind and will be.

So Sorry! But what an interesting life
Fred led! My love to Katy and Michael

I was in Fred's Elderwise classes in classic literature. In fact, when he retired from teaching those classes, I suceeded him as Elderwise's classic literature guy.

Fred did not, of course, drive and since I lived not far from him, for a number of years ha and I rode together to and from the Elderwise classes. I, thus, had a chance to get to know Fred outside of class. We had much in common: a love of great literature, baseball, sports in general, progreszive politics. He was a...

Katy, Mike, and to all of Fred's family, I send my prayers. He was a kind man, and always treated us neighborhood kids with respect, which I think is a true sign of someone's character. I remember him having a good sense of humor, and always being welcoming. May his memory forever be a blessing for you all.

Sending condolences and prayers to Fred's family....I helped care for his beautiful children when they were young and I greatly admired the parents who loved them so. Such a long and rich life!
