Dr. Frederick Charles Blades

Dear Mrs. Blades and family, I was so sorry to hear of Dr. Blades passing. He was an all around good guy. I remember him coming into my Art room at RFH telling me how pleased he was about Sarah taking Art, because his mother was an artist. He came in for Sarah and later for Leslie. They were both wonderful artists and he took such pride in their success because of his Mother, who loved Art and instilled that love in Dr. Blades and his daughters. I would see him around town and always...

A fine man. Recognized everyone in the neighborhood and always greeted them well. A regular at the Acme and a regular guy. My kids went to school with Sarah and Charlie. I am sad to hear of his death. Fondly, Patricia Dumas. River Rd.

My heart was saddened to hear of Dr. Blades passing. A finer man you will never meet. He was a kind compassionate person that truly cared for all of his patients and every person he came in contact with. Dr. Blades was a “top notch” Ophthalmologist. He was my parents doctor and my doctor since the 1980’s. Most visits Dr. Blades would talk about my parents an my grandmother. He enjoyed reminiscing about the past. In the 80’s my grandmother lived in the upstairs apartment of his office....

So sorry for your loss, my prayers are with you at this hard time.

I just wanted to offer my sincere condolences on your tremendous loss and to tell you how sorry I am for your pain. I lost my husband 3 years ago and I know how you feel. He was a lovely person , and you were both always so kind to us. Peace.

Dr. Blades was a treasure of ours. He restored my father's eye sight in 1978, enabling him to see my fiancee for the first time and attend our wedding. The office visits were always entertaining and my Dad, Walter Kerr, and Dr. Blades always had a great time that Dad looked forward to. A very special man!
