Not sure what to say?

Hey Coach, I wish we could just grab a drink and sit on a bench. I tell you just thank you. I hug you and tell you... You helped shaped me to the person I am today. I wish I got to tell you after many years I got my bachelor's degree, associates as well and a certificate in child abuse. You wouldn't be surprised. You saw so much greatness in me before I did. I wish I could tell you I work in education now. I drive now haha that's a surprise with the severity of my anxiety. Hey Coach, I'm...

Ted taught me to think for myself regarding mass media etc.

Ted Brock was my head coach for San Gabriel High School for four years. He molded me into one of the great runners in the team because he believed in me. He allowed me to inspire the team though I wasn´t the fastest member. Coach Brock made me into a leader and gave the tools to teach the team. I am thankful for the man he was in my life. What he gave me can never be replaced by any other man. He was true mentor in my eyes. Thank you for coach for making me the man that I am today. ...

Hey Mr. Brock! It's Jestin. This will be my last email in our exchange. It's been a little over 3 years since we last met in Pasadena over lunch. Life kind of recovered after the pandemic and picked back up, so I've been in Northern California since early 2022. Life has a way of continuing to move forward, and not to mention communication is tough when you said you were physically unable to muster more than a simple email. I never followed through on the idea of reaching back out to you. And...

My name is Quentin Grzyb and I met him in my freshman year in San Gabriel High School. I had just joined track and field and had little knowledge of what it would entail. In the next three years, I became one of the best cross country runners in the team and was offered the role model role of showing everyone what it means to be dedicated and push my team to achieve new heights of course that was for cross country only. Ted Brock showed me what it means to be a leader and how important my...

I was only a sophomore when I met Coach Brock upon joining his Cross-Country team. I still remember my times with him very clearly- I recall the moments where he'd run from one side of a course all the way to the other just to cheer both me and my teammates on, the times where he'd remind us how to fix our form, to keep pushing ourselves like the mountain goats we are up Mt. Sac, and the way he still remembered my name as he was casting over a Track and Field meet 2 years after he had...

Coach Brock! Changed my life. I was his student. I hope he knows the impact he made on my life and many others. He got me to slowly believe in myself. I know he will always cheer for us runners on even if we can see him physically. To his family, Brock was a well respected and adored man. He retired the year his team was on top. Going out on top. I never started out wanting to run. He knew. I did slowly like it and life is like a race even if I cannot see the finish line. I go on my own pace.

Sad to hear the news of Ted Brock's passing! Ted was my sports writing teacher at USC back in the late 1980's. And we became friends soon after. Ted was a great guy and he will be missed! R.I.P. Ted!!

Ted and I were fraternity brothers at Oxy, and I always enjoyed his quick wit and easy manner. I trust and hope his children are as cool as he was. A great loss.
