Frederick Alan "Fred" Burnside

Dear Jeremy and Family,
We were sad to hear that Fred had passed away. The last time we saw him was over Labor Day 2016 in Rockaway Beach. He was getting ready to share his music with the local Carnival at the Park. Was always fun to listen to the music,have some BBQ, and enjoy a beautiful day at the coast. I think he thought so, too. We often would see him on our walks at the coast and visit. It won't be the same without him. He was so proud of you and your family. May he rest in peace...

Fred was a true North Coast local. Many good memories of him playing his guitar at Thursday night jam nights at the Edgewood. He loved surfing at Short Sands and was totally in his element there with his board, friends, and the waves.
Our condolences to Fred's children and family. Many shared the pleasure of knowing him.

Dear Lorna, I was so surprised and sad to see your brother's obituary in the Sunday Oregonian. I have such fond memories of our friendship when we were maybe in the fourth grade. I remember eating donuts in the morning with you and Fred after spending the night. (Do you remember waking up in your backyard covered in slugs?) I think of you often and wonder how you are doing.
I'm sending you my deepest sympathy.
