Not sure what to say?

Fred was a wonderful friend and leader at Longy SChool of Music. He was gentle, thoughtful and loyal. We miss him.

I can't tell you just how many times I've thought of Dr. Cabot over the years since I graduated from Pine Manor College. He was such a kind and gentle man, and a wise and passionate teacher and mentor. He was one of only a handful of people who have influenced my life and I truly cherish his memory. As others have said, it was a gift to have known him. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Carol J. Bernhard 92

Fred was such a warm and delightful person! We will treasure the times we spent with him when we gathered for drinks and dinners. Liz, we felt so graciously welcomed to Weston by you and Fred and we could not have asked for more lovely neighbors. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this sad time. Fred touched us deeply and we will miss him.

Fred was an enormously positive presence on the Board of the Landmarks Orchestra. My conversations with him were always interesting, vital and substantive. We shared two alma maters, and many common interests. We are grateful for his many contributions, and will greatly miss his spark and his kind encouragement.

Christopher Wilkins, Music Director
Boston Landmarks Orchestra

My deepest condolences to friends and family.

Fred was a quiet but very effective member of the Weston Forest and Trail Association Board of Trustees, a dedicated environmentalist and a very fine person. The Board of Trustees of the Weston Forest and Trail Association will miss his support and his counsel.

Fred was a faithful and important contributor to the Board of Trustees of the Boston Landmarks Orchestra--which plays summer concerts at the Hatch Shell on the Esplanade and at other venues in the city with our many civic and artistic partners. Wise, clever, endlessly interesting and devoted to the orchestra's mission, he retired from the Board last year. We miss him and wish his family well.
--Jeff Makholm, Chair, Board of Trustees, Boston Landmarks Orchestra

An old Vermont friend from way back when, I would like to say that Fred was the best of the best!! He was the jewel of all jewels, and a finer man I have never known. Be it tennis, biking, hiking, sailing he was always ready to go. Such a humble man!! His love of reading and writing were second to no one. One in a million, that was Fred. I will miss you forever, Fred

Lovingly, Gailen Jette, Middlebury, Vt.

Dr. Cabot was a top-notch professor and an even better human being. I can think only of a handful of people whose influence changed the course of my life. Fred Cabot is one of them.
