His passion for teaching finance and his ability to inspire students left a lasting impact on me. My sincere condolences to his family.

Freddy Choi and I grew up together in Wahiawa and attended the Korean Christian Church as children. He was always smart and friendly. He
certainly went far from the pineapple fields of Wahiawa to becoming an international scholar and Dean at NYU.

Professor Choi by luck was my professor for my first class ever at Stern MBA in 1985. He was brilliant, articulate, and the students loved him. Class gave me a great intro for the rest of my great Stern experience. He was a wonderful and very kind man.
