Dr. Crane was one of the professors I worked for in Biological Sciences Dept at Purdue. My office was next to his in the basement. Every time he brought me work he had a ready smile and he seemed like a very kind man. I enjoyed working for him from 1968 to 1973. My condolences to his wife and family.

Dear Marilyn and Fred's family, I greatly enjoyed interacting with Fred while we were colleagues at Purdue in Biological Sciences. Fred was always helpful to junior colleagues like me and gave us great advice. I enjoyed seeing Fred and Marilyn after their retirement when they returned to campus for events. Since the time I left Purdue for Western Washington, I have missed those meetings. My condolences to you all. Take care, Joann Otto
