Not sure what to say?

To the Eckhardt Family,
Growing up and attending Hazel Avenue School(1966-1973) seems like an eternity ago. Then when I moved to Pine Brook in 1996 - 30 years after beginning Kindergarten to find out I live around the corner from my elementary school principal was a blast from the past. Then when he would come and read to the first grade in Woodmont school where my boys attended and my youngest was in the class he was reading to - I was blown away. I felt I had come full cirlce. Though...

For Richard's sister and the entire Eckhardt family,

There are no words that I can say that will let you know the deep sorrow I feel for you during this time. With each passing day, may you find hope in a brighter tomorrow; and with God's love may you grow stronger too. I know how difficult a time this is for each of you; and my heart, prayers and love are there as well.

Dear Mrs. Eckhardt and Family,
When I was sent to the principal's office at the age of five, Mr. E. met me with a hug and a talk. He is forever remembered as a wise leader and friend who preserved a child's dignity while instilling correction with education and kindness. I appreciated his sparkling eyes, humor, patience and insight and especially the way he looked into the hearts and minds of children. I count myself very fortunate to have known Mr. E. He put the ideas of emotional...

Dear Mrs. Eckhardt and family,
Mr. Eckhardt was a wonderful man and I could not have asked for a better person to help me start my career in education.
He will be deeply missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Dear Eckhardt Family,
It was with deepest sadness that I heard about Mr. Eckhardt passing today. I had the pleasure of working with him at Hazel Avenue School for a few years. I was especially lucky becuase I got to go up to camp with him a few times! He was a wonderful caring man, who will truly be missed by all that knew him! God bless.

Mr. Eckhardt was my principal at Hazel Ave. in the 1970's-80's. I didn't know how dedicated he was to Public Service until just now, reading his obituaries. I can't help thinking that he helped play a small part in me eventually joining Peace Corps and deciding to work in the international humanitarian field. Rest in Peace, Fred - you impacted millions of lives! - Scott Webb, Fairfax, VA (Hazel Ave 6th grade class of 1985.)

Dear Beverly, & family,
With our deepest sympathy in the loss of our dear friend Fred, you are in our thoughts and prayers at this time of sorrow.
Sincerely, Richard & Priscilla Faustina

To Fred's Family: It was my pleasure to have such fond memories for the many years we have been associated. He was a leader of men and a friend to many. God Bless

Dear Bev and Family,
From the day we moved into Montville in 1968, we have had the outmost respect for all of you. Whether it was sports, politics, environment, or special interests, Fred was always willing to work for the township.
Our love and prayers are with each of you during this most difficult time.
With sorrow and respect,
