Prayers and thoughts go out to the family.
Fred was a person who had visions and goals in life to better himself, those around him or society in general. He had a mission to see his visions/goals come to fruition by staying focused. This contributed to many of his achievements in life. He was a very determined person and also competitive in sports, which I enjoyed the pleasure of participating with and against. He was a highly respected teacher and a favorite...

My prayer go out to the family..Mr.
Gahres was my school teacher many many years ago and as I remember he was one of my favorites...

Aunt Sandy, Amber and Natalie

I have very fond memories of visiting Uncle Fred on our annual trips back East. He always made me feel special on our Gahres Family cookouts. We will miss him dearly, but he will always be in our hearts.

Sandy, Amber, and Natalie,
I was deeply saddened to learn of uncle fred's death, you are in my thought's and prayers during your time of grief.

When we would visit Pennsylvania and see the Gahres side of the family, uncle Fred always made time for us. I especially remember Fred's convertibles and how he was very willing to take his nephews out for a ride.

Uncle Fred was truly a man who lived his life his way, as the ultimate family man and educator serving his country...

My deepest sympathies to the Gahres family and friends. Fred was an inspiration to me not with words, but with deeds and actions. An example:

Jonestown needed a goalie that day so Fred, well past his prime, suited up, one of the few times I saw him play in the goal.
A corner kick came swinging in and Fred ran off his line straight into a fierce collision. He flew at least five...

From a member of the Jonestown Male Chorus. May you find comfort in God's gift of Amazing Grace.

Dear Sandra, Amber and Natalie,
I have known Fred since our high school days, being adversaries on the athletic field. We both then became teammates in college on the soccer and baseball teams. Many hours were spent together not only on the athletic fields but in classes, in the dorm and traveling to and from home for four years.
In soccer I played the position if front of him. Mnay times an opposing player would get by me only to be rejected by Fred. I always told Fred that I made him...

Sandy, Amber and Natalie- I have so many wonderful memories of Uncle Fred over the years. He had a full and wonderful life, and touched many people. You are in my thoughts.

My deepest sympathies to the Gahres family. Fred was my first baseball coach and a definite inspiration in my life. I chose East Stroudsburg State College because of him. My passion in soccer was also inspired by him. We became teammates in Reading (Reading Amerks). He was a teriffic guy, a great competitor, a compassionate man who enjoyed life and people. He will be an asset in heaven. Sorry time and distance keeps me from coming to his memorial service. I will always smile at the...
