We can not thank him enough. They don't make reporters like him anymore - may he rest in peace. To his family, know the difference he has made in so many lives. Fred was the most meticulous person I have ever known. I worked with him on some stories and it was always a pleasure. I too retired from The Post in 1987 and had no contact with Fred afterward but I will never forget him and his silent dedication to a task. May he rest in peace.
