Frederick A. Greenwald

Greenwald, Frederick A.--89, A resident of Medford since 1960, formerly of Cambridge, died on June 25, 2014.

Frederick was the beloved companion of the late Anna T. Downing and the father of Joseph Downing of Medford. He was the brother of Doris Steffard of CA and the late Harry Greenwald. Frederick is also survived by Francis Downing, Rita Davey, and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held for Frederick, in the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) in Somerville on Wednesday morning, July 2, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be hel on Tuesday, July 1, from 5-8 p.m. Entombment will be at Holy Cross Mausoleum in Malden.

Frederick was a Veteran of the US Navy, WW II and Past Commanderm Russell Hoyt, V.F.W. Post 299. He had a long career as an iron worker and was a member Iron Works Union Local #7.
